Alex Panton Foundation (APF)

The Alex Panton Foundation (APF) is a Non-Profit Organisation with the primary objective of raising awareness of mental illnesses affecting children and young adults in the Cayman Islands, with a particular focus on anxiety and depression. The APF was established in memory of Alex Panton, who succumbed to the effects of severe depression at the age of 16.Our aim is to provide hope and resources to friends, family, teachers, classmates, and carers, to help save the lives of children and young adults struggling with mental illness. We are committed to improving young people’s mental health via advocacy, awareness, and support. Business and Professional Women

BPW is a non-partisan charter group of the International Federation of Business & Professional women founded in 1930. Its major goals include:• to work for high standards of service in business and the professions.• to stimulate and encourage in women a realisation and acceptance of their responsibilities to the community, locally, nationally, and internationally.• to encourage women and girls to acquire education, occupational training, and advance education.• to work for equal opportunities and status for women in economic, civil, and political life in all countries.BPW Grand Cayman provides educational scholarships for eligible females on annual basis, raises and promotes issues pertinent to women within the Cayman Islands, assists and partners with government and other local NPO’s who support women & children who are victims of domestic violence and bullying in Grand Cayman.

BPW are proud to have collaborated with the local meditation music group Buddho to present a 15-minute peaceful music meditation video produced here in the Cayman Islands by Ben Hud. There are many research studies that now recognised the benefits of meditation as an aid to promote good mental health and mental wellbeing. BPW hopes that this meditation helps provide a space of mindfulness in your busy day. Check out the video in the link below.

To see Buddho play in person  all are welcome to Body Works on a Thursday evening between 7pm-8pm. Entrance is free of charge -donations are welcome, which are gifted to local charities.

The Counselling Centre

The Counselling Centre has a versatile and skilled team of clinicians with experience in community-based counselling. Our clinicians are highly qualified and maintain up-to-date licensure, registration and certifications in their respective fields. They maintain high standards of ethical practice and engage in continual professional development to ensure evidence-based and current practices. Services are provided to individuals, couples and families of diverse backgrounds with concerns across the lifespan from young children through older adults. We are committed to drawing upon family strengths to solve problems and, when appropriate, to collaborate with other professionals involved in care. Many clients seek our services for counselling to help facilitate their wellness. Emotional Literacy Programme (ELP)

The Emotional Literacy Programme (ELP) is an evidence-based programme designed to teach children important life skills, including how to cope with everyday difficulties, how to communicate with other people, and how to build self-awareness and emotional resilience. The ELP conducts the Skills for Life Programmes as licensed by the Partnership for Children UK (PfC), which are widely used in the UK and in over 30 countries worldwide.The ELP delivers Zippy’s Friends (ages 5 – 7), Apple’s Friends (ages 7 – 9), and the Zippy’s Friends SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) adaptation from the Skills for Life programmes. Zippy’s Friends and Apple’s Friends are based on a series of stories that teach students how to navigate difficult emotions and complex life challenges. Children learn positive strategies for problem-solving through engaging activities, including storytelling, discussion, games, role-play, and drawing.The ELP is currently established in 21 schools in the Cayman Islands, across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, with over 200 teachers and 3,000 students. Inclusion Cayman

Inclusion Cayman, a Non-Profit, works with the community to ensure individuals with developmental disabilities are equitably included in all aspects of society. Our team provides ongoing family advocacy and support to reduce barriers often faced by persons with disabilities in accessing inclusive lives. We work with multiple community stakeholders to develop and support on the ground support for high-quality inclusive education, recreation, and employment opportunities. We believe inclusion is a basic human right, and strive to support community access, participation, and membership for ALL individuals.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cayman Islands is a registered nonprofit organization, with a mission to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-on-one relationships that change lives for better, forever.Bigs (adults) are carefully matched with Littles (children) based on mutual traits, suited to each child’s needs, and held to international matching practices and standards. As mentors, Bigs are there to be a trusted friend, to be non-judgmental, to be good listeners and to help their Littles to have fun! With child-safety at the forefront of the organization, Bigs are required to go through a screening and training process. Ongoing match support is provided to the Big, the Little, and the Little’s family.Our entire matching process is made possible through donations, sponsorship, and community partnerships. Children and Youth Services Foundation (CAYS)

The Children and Youth Services (CAYS) Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering youth and their families who are experiencing difficulties achieving their full human potential. The CAYS Foundation operates the Bonaventure Boys’ Home, the Frances Bodden Children’s Home, and Phoenix House, providing 24-hour residential care to youth who have been Court ordered into residential treatment due to care and protection needs and/or youth exhibiting offending behaviors. The program adopts a strength-based approach to decision-making and self-awareness.

Family Resource Centre

The Family Resource Centre (FRC) is dedicated to providing a wide range of services and programmes to promote and support healthy family relationships. We equip families with tools and strategies to parent confidently. Our services range from short-term, long-term and comprehensive programmes that cater to the needs of families and individuals. Amongst the programme and services offered include, Stop Now And Plan (SNAP), Young Parent Services, Co-Parenting One Heart Two Homes, Positive Discipline Workshop and The Teen Toolbox Workshop. LOUD silent voices – A Family Mental Health Support Group

Loud Silent Voices (“LSV”), a registered charitable organization in the Cayman Islands, is a Mental Health Family Support Group whose primary focus is to educate and support the persons who are caring for a family member, loved one or friend who has a mental health diagnosis. The Caregiver Support group meets the last Tuesday of every month at the Elmslie Memorial Church Hall from 6 – 7:30pm.On July 10, 2021, LSV opened the doors to the first ever Mental Health Group Home for adults in the Cayman Islands. We are a 24/7 supportive housing program for adults with a mental health diagnosis who have expressed a desire for and, are capable of, becoming more independent in their community. Our services are designed to help our residents reach and maintain their maximum independence in the group home setting with eventual transition back to the community.The Group Home aim to provide our residents with the opportunity to learn and practice daily living skills towards independence. We work with the residents and their families for continued supportive care, compassion and transition to greater independence for those diagnosed with mental health illness. Youth Ambassador Programme

The Youth Ambassador Programme (“YAP”) was created by the Alex Panton Foundation to provide support to the youth of Cayman who experience mental health challenges, in particular anxiety and depression, in a way that builds resilience and inspires hope through the young people developing their own path forward. YAP aims to inspire young people to offer peer support with compassion, understanding and active listening. YAP also aims to create positive change in our community through youth voice and intergenerational discourse.

CyKids

CyKids is working to build a community of parents and children that are armed with the knowledge and tools they need to keep their data, and themselves, cyber safe. CyKids aims to provide online resources as well as in-person events to build community awareness.
